CellBar: Signal & Cell Meter

Live signal in dBm — band, frequency and cell ID, read from your phone's radio.

Google Play

CellBar is an honest cellular signal meter. It shows exactly what your phone's radio reports — nothing invented, nothing exaggerated, and no claim that it can make your signal stronger. No app can do that. CellBar tells you what is actually there, so you can decide where to stand, which corner of the house to work in, or whether a dead spot is really a dead spot.

WHAT YOU SEE, FREE

• Live signal strength in dBm, updated every second — RSRP on LTE and 5G, RSSI on 3G and 2G
• A plain-language verdict: Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor — with what it means for calls and video
• Network generation: 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G, and LTE + 5G when your phone is on a 5G non-standalone network
• Band and downlink frequency, converted from the channel number with the 3GPP formulas (B3 · 1842.5 MHz, n78 · 3489.4 MHz)
• Carrier name, serving cell ID, PCI, TAC and MCC/MNC
• RSRQ, SINR, ASU and timing advance
• A live 60-second graph, coloured by signal quality
• Your current Wi-Fi link: RSSI, channel, band and link speed

CELLBAR PRO

• Coverage walk — start a walk and CellBar draws your own path, colouring every step by the signal measured there and marking dead spots. The map is your track, drawn on the device. No map tiles are downloaded and no location is ever uploaded.
• Every neighbour cell your phone can hear, with its own channel, band and signal
• The full Wi-Fi analyser: nearby networks, channels, security and 2.4 GHz congestion, with the least crowded channel
• Export any walk as a CSV file to share or keep
• One subscription covers every tool added later

HOW IT HANDLES THE TRUTH

Most apps in this category hide their failures. CellBar does the opposite. If Android returns an empty cell list, CellBar tells you whether that is because permission is missing, because the system location switch is off, or because there really is no service — because those are three completely different things and only one of them means "no signal". When a value is unavailable, you see a dash, never a zero. When a 5G frequency could belong to more than one band, the band is marked as approximate instead of being stated as fact.

WHY LOCATION PERMISSION

Android places cell identity behind the location permission — without it the radio returns nothing at all. CellBar uses location for two things only: reading the cell your phone is connected to, and drawing your own coverage walk. Everything happens on the device. CellBar has no account, no analytics, no ads, and no server of its own to send anything to.

NOT A BOOSTER

CellBar is a measuring instrument. It cannot and does not improve reception, and it will never tell you it did.
